South Sabula Lake Park



Size: 14 acres

Services: camping, electricity, water, showers, flush toilets, picnicking,
lake and stream fishing, boating, and handicapped facilities

Dates Available: Will open April 2, 2010 (weather permitting).
All Campsites are first-come first-serve sites - no reservations.
Maximum 14 day stay.  Campground closes Tues Nov 2, 2010.

Camping Fees:       Gravel sites $15                Firewood $4
                        Paved sites $18

Other Fees:            Non-registered camper dump station fee $3
                        Non-registered camper shower fee $3

Youth Group Camping:
If you are an organized youth group (ex. Boy Scouts, Church group, 4-H group) you are eligible to apply for a group camping
permit. The camping fee is $1 per youth/adult per night. Groups can be no larger than 25 youths, must have 1 adult for every
10 youths. Group rates are not effective for holiday weekends. A maximum of 4 sites are available for group camping. Please fill
out the
permit and return it to our office. If you have questions please contact Jackson County Conservation at 563-652-3783.  
We can not reserve campsites between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.  

Picnic Shelter:
There is one picnic shelter available for reservation. A non-refundable shelter reservation fee of $25.00 is required to reserve
the shelter. To reserve a shelter please fill out the form and return it to our office two weeks prior to the reservation date. The
shelters may be reserved by calling 563-652-3783, Monday-Friday 9 am - 4 pm. All shelters are available on a first come first
serve basis for free, when not reserved.

The shelter has 8 picnic tables, restroom's & water nearby, electricity and lights. The capacity of the shelter is 50, with limited
amount of parking available. The shelter is available from 6 am - 10:30 pm, April 1 - November 1. Users must abide by all rules
and regulations and all laws of the State of Iowa.

This 14-acre campground and boating access is located at the
southernmost end of South Avenue in Sabula. The park is
surrounded by water and makes an ideal spot for all water-related
sports. A concrete boat ramp and a public dock are provided for
easy access to South Sabula Lake and the Mississippi River.
There's also a 40-unit campground with electrical and water sites.
This area contains modern showers and restroom facilities, a
trailer dump station, and a playground. Firewood is also available.
