Canton Church School
This one-room building was constructed in 1877 of locally quarried limestone and
can be found on the south edge of Canton. This buildings primary use was as a
schoolhouse up to May of 1966. It was also used by area residents for Sunday
worship. The architecture is typical in this area. The interior of the building contains
the church furnishings that were used until 1975. Management is a cooperative
between JCCB and the Jackson County Historical Society. Tours of the facility are
